IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ! FAILURE TO FOLLOW CARE INSTRUCTIONS WILL VOID YOUR GUARANTEE
You are now a proud owner of a superior breech that will bring you many years of enjoyment. To help you keep your breeches in top condition, we would like to pass on to you our preferred method of cleaning, so that you can keep your breeches clean and supple.
In more detail:
Equissentials Deerskin Breeches love to be washed!!! {Never, never dry clean!} Think of caring for your breeches the way you would care for the skin on your face ~ GENTLY. We choose each Deerskin for its suppleness and resiliency. They are tanned using natural, gentle methods, utilizing Carragheenan ~ a natural plant protein ~ as a conditioner. You are starting with quality leather, so it pays to take care of it. They are an investment that can last many years with the proper care!
When you first get your breeches, we suggest spraying Scotch Guard TM , while you are wearing them, over the fabric part only. This is especially important for the lighter colors.
This will give a protective coating that helps repel all the “stuff” one might come in contact with during the experiences we encounter with our horses. It also helps any stains release easier when washed. We suggest re-applying the Scotch Guard TM every 3rd washing to ensure that your breeches can be cleaned easier and more effectively. Hand washing your breeches is the best thing for them. You will get the most enjoyment out of them as they will be soft, supple and

…Your deerskin leather is RECYCLABLE!
Hand Washing Instructions:
When your breeches need cleaning, they should be HAND WASHED SEPARATELY cool water and a mild soap. We strongly suggest Leather Therapy’s Laundry Solution and Laundry Rinse & Dressing. (Woolite or Delicare are also acceptable substitutes. They are natural, mild soaps, and work well for all your fine washables.)
For fabric stains, we suggest soaking the breeches completely, then adding a small amount of dish soap directly to the stain. Fill a clean tub or sink with 3 ~ 5 gallons of cool water then add a tablespoon of soap to the water, mix well, THEN add ONE PAIR of breeches. Let them soak about an hour, rinse completely, gently squeeze (do NOT wring) out the water, wrap in a towel for 5 minutes to get most of the water out, apply Leather Therapy Rinse and Dressing to the wet leather (if you are using this product) and hang to dry, out of the sun. Always wash your breeches separately. Washing your breeches like this is the best thing for them. They will last longer since they will remain soft and supple.
Machine Washing Instructions:
Fill your washer with cool water, add a MILD detergent or Leather Therapy product and let it mix thoroughly THEN add your breeches – ONE PAIR ONLY. Be sure ALL settings are on gentle and wash. Remove the breeches BEFORE the final spin cycle. Do not use your washing machines spin cycle to get the water out of the breeches. It is too harsh on the breeches and can cause a tie-dye effect. Wrap in a towel for several minutes, apply Leather Therapy Rinse & Dressing to the wet leather, using the applicator sponge supplied, and then hang - out of the sun – to dry.
